Communities

At present, there are less than 1,000 Israelite Samaritans in the world, which is due to centuries of persecution and assimilation. The Israelite Samaritan communities in the Jewish state of Israel have a total population of a little over 800 souls. Outside of the Levant, there are a few dozen people who know that their ancestors were Israelite Samaritans, but their families have practiced some form of Christianity or Islam for many generations. In the past two decades, some of them have made a concerted effort to return to their ancestral religion and reconnect with the Israelite Samaritan community in Israel. From among these are the following SRPISD member communities:
